Zing
The current issue of the Chinese magazine Zing includes an interview and a set of images from the Lunch Pictures series. The issue also includes work by Jason Polan.
Publication
Gus Powell's photograph "Passo Doble" is included in the debut issue of the new street photography periodical Publication. The magazine is the creation of UK street photographer Nick Turpin.

Jarzyna: Teatr/Theatre
A book dedicated to the Polish theater director Grzegorz Jarzyna titled Jarzyna: Teatr/Theatre includes a set of images that were made of the TR Warszawa production of Macbeth that was done at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn.
Look, Stranger
Gus Powell recently returned from rural Serbia where he was Art Directing and shooting stills on the film set of Look, Stranger. The film is by writer/director Arielle Javitch and stars Anamaria Marinca and Tom Burke.

SUMMER 2009
FotoGrafia Festival Internazionale di Roma
A video installation of The Lonely Ones was featured at the FotoGrafia festival in Rome, Italy. The exhibition at the Palazzo della Esposizioni, which includes work by Nan Golden, Rinko Kawauchi, Georgio Barrera and others, was on view through August 2, 2009.
Adidas "Gold is Never a Given" campaign wins CA and D&AD.
Communication Arts and D&AD have selected the "Gold Is Never A Given" campaign that was created with the agency 180 Amsterdam to be published in their award annuals. Both books will be released in the fall of this year. This campaign, done with creative director Paulo Martins and copywriter Carlos Funari, also won the photography prize at AdPrint.
NY Perspectives / Stadsarchive / FOAM
A new body of work titled Voetganger was exhibited from May 13th to August 15th in Amsterdam. This set of pictures was made in Amsterdam in November of 2008 at the request of FOAM and the Stadsarchief. The exhibition, titled NY Perspectives, includes commissioned work by Joshua Lutz, Carl Wooley, & Richard Rothman.
NEWSWEEK Cover May 4 2009
Cover for the May 4th, 2009 issue of NEWSWEEK. The cover story is "To Bodly Go . . . How Star Trek Taught Us To Dream Big." It was a quick collaboration with Paul Sahre for Number 17.
TH Inside States of Mind Exhibition
Images from Lunch Pictures and The Lonely Ones recently included in a traveling show called "States of Mind." The show was in Brussels and then in Stocholm, then lost in Milano, then found in New Haven and could end up in India.
The Architecture of Moshe Safdie
I was asked to make a series of pictures that observe how people use the buildings of Moshe Safdie. Pictures were made at the SLC City Library, the Skirball Cultural Institute in LA, and the Mamila Center in Jerusalem, Israel.
