Street Value: Shopping, Planning, & Politics at Fulton Mall
A portfolio of street images made by Gus Powell at the Fulton Street Mall in downtown Brooklyn is included in the new publication Street Value: Shopping, Planning, & Politics at Fulton Mall. The book is the first in the new series by Inventory Books/PAP and was designed by Project Projects. Information about the June 27th book launch and a June 26th walking tour can be found Here.
10 : Ten Years of iN-PUBLiC
Nick Turpin Publishing has just announced the publication of "10". The book commemorates ten years of the iN-PUBLiC international street photographers group and features ten images from each of the groups 20 photographers. The section on Gus Powell includes several images that are being published for the first time. For more information on the book have a look Here.
PhotoFusion UK: iN-PUBLiC @ 10
This Exhibition marks the 10th anniversary of iN-PUBLiC, the street photography collective of 20 members located around the globe. Powell joined the group in 2003 and his work, along with all of the other members, will be on view in London at Photofusion begining May 27th. The exhibition will include several events and workshops. Details are below.
NY Perspectives: Amsterdam Discovered by NY Photographers @ 25CPW Gallery
A selection from the series Voetganger was recently exhibited at the gallery 25 CPW in NYC. This set of pictures was made in Amsterdam in November of 2008 at the request of FOAM and the The City Archives of Amsterdam. The exhibition, titled NY Perspectives, also includes work by Joshua Lutz and Carl Wooley.
Abe's Penny: Gus Powell & Rachel Levitsky
In May of 2010 a series of four postcards, each featuring a photograph by Gus Powell and a poem by Rachel Levitsky will be published and posted by Abe's Penny. Subscribers will receive one card in their mailbox each week.
